I've always been drawn to building things that people can experience, whether that's a brand, an exhibition, a campaign, or a single screen-printed garment. My work lives somewhere between strategy and making. I enjoy developing an idea just as much as bringing it to life. That often means sketching, printing, photographing, filming, installing, revising, and occasionally climbing a ladder the night before an opening because one last detail still needs to be right.
Growing up in Ohio, soccer became my first creative outlet. Years of competing taught me that the best work comes from consistency, curiosity, and a willingness to improve a little every day. That mindset followed me into design, eventually leading me to Los Angeles, where I earned my Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at Otis College of Art and Design. Today, I bring that same energy into every project, whether I'm developing a visual identity, building a campaign, designing a website, or experimenting with new ways to tell a story.
Outside the studio, you'll usually find me searching for vintage clothing, exploring local coffee shops, traveling, watching soccer, or finding inspiration in the details most people walk past. My business "Garlandbrandshop" is an active archive of stoppable clothing and sneakers. I'm endlessly curious about how brands create culture, how objects gain meaning, and how thoughtful design can turn ordinary moments into memorable experiences. At the end of the day, I simply love making things that people connect with and I'm always excited for the next opportunity to create something meaningful with a great team.
